I created Canela Prayer through intuition first… by listening to the plants, to texture, to warmth, to the kind of awakening I wanted the ritual to bring to the skin. I was not trying to replicate an ancient formula or follow a historical template. And yet, when I later stepped back and studied the architecture of what had come through, I recognized something deeply familiar in it… an echo of Ayurvedic ubtan traditions, where legumes, herbs, woods, spices, and bright botanicals come together to cleanse, refine, and awaken the skin through ritual.
What moves me most is not only the ingredients themselves, but the dance between them. Earthy clays and garbanzo create the body of the mask. Fruits and herbs bring brightness, nourishment, and quiet intelligence. Turmeric and cinnamon awaken warmth and movement. Sandalwood and orange peel soften the ritual with balance, aroma, and glow.
Nothing sits alone. Each ingredient moves in relationship with the others… drawing, replenishing, warming, and softening. This is the medicine of activation. This is Canela Prayer.
